Ricoh Confirms GR IVx: 40mm Version Incoming, GR IIIx Production Ending

It’s official. Ricoh has confirmed it is developing the GR IVx — the 40mm-equivalent sibling everyone expected after the GR IV.

This is not a GR IIIx with a new badge. The camera uses a newly designed 26.1mm f/2.8 lens (about 40mm full-frame equivalent) with 8 elements in 6 groups, including three asphericals. Inside, it gets the GR IV’s ~26MP APS-C BSI sensor, 5-axis IBIS, the larger DB-120 battery, and about 53GB of internal storage.

Canon EOS R8 Mark II Locked In for September 15 — IBIS, Same Size, About $1,800

Mark the calendar. Canon Rumors now says the EOS R8 Mark II lands on September 15, 2026 — depending which side of the planet you are on.

This is no longer a vague “sometime in September” rumor. The same update also claims Canon kept the R8’s size and weight, finally added IBIS, and will ask about $1,800 for the body.

Nikon’s Entire 2026 Pipeline Is Slipping — Z70, Lenses, Firmware All Delayed

Do not hold your breath for Nikon’s next wave. Nikon Rumors says the consensus from multiple sources is that almost everything still coming from Nikon is delayed — rumored cameras, lenses, and firmware updates.

No new dates. Just a later calendar. Some of the July estimates are now expected to slide into 2027.

Canon EOS R8 Mark II Won’t Get the 32.5MP Sensor — Latest Leak Says 24MP

Scratch the 32.5MP assumption. The latest update from Canon Rumors says the Canon EOS R8 Mark II is lined up for a full-frame ~24MP CMOS sensor — not the 32.5MP chip used in the EOS R6 Mark III and Cinema EOS C50.

That is a meaningful course correction for anyone expecting the entry-level full-frame body to inherit Canon’s newest stills/video resolution platform.

Apple ProRes Page Leaks Unreleased Nikon Z70 — Likely the DX Speed Camera

Apple may have just spoiled Nikon’s next body. On the official Apple ProRes and ProRes RAW Authorized Products page (updated July 10, 2026), an unannounced camera labeled Nikon Z70 is listed next to the Z6III, Z8, Z9, and ZR.

That is not a casual mention — the Z70 shows up in both the ProRes and ProRes RAW product sections.
