Canon EOS R8 Mark II Sample Images: Official Photos, RAW Files and Gallery Roundup

Canon EOS R8 Mark II sample images with exposure settings, plus JPEG and RAW galleries from DPReview, Digital Camera World and The-Digital-Picture.

Canon EOS R8 Mark II (Amazon/B&H Photo Video) sample images are available from Canon, DPReview and Digital Camera World. The galleries cover daylight scenes, low light, portraits and wildlife, with downloadable RAW files available from DPReview for readers who want to try their own processing.

Here are three official examples and a guide to the independent galleries. For launch details, see our Canon EOS R8 Mark II announcement.

Canon’s official sample images

The following pictures come from Canon Malaysia’s official gallery. Exposure settings follow Canon’s captions; exact lens models and processing details are not specified alongside these three frames.

Daylight: temple gateway at 35mm

The gateway sits between deep shade and bright sky, with a blurred foreground at f/2. RAW shadow-recovery latitude cannot be established from this preview.

Color and texture: leaves on water

Red leaves stand out against blue-green water. Look at the color separation and ripples rather than using this web-sized image to judge fine sensor detail.

Low light: a red-lit staircase at ISO 8000

The dark staircase mixes warm artificial light and deep shadows. ISO 8000 makes it an interesting low-light example, but the small published file limits any assessment of noise reduction or retained detail.

DPReview: out-of-camera JPEGs and downloadable RAWs

DPReview’s EOS R8 Mark II sample gallery, updated October 24, includes everyday photography and portraits made with lenses ranging from kit zooms to L-series glass. The publication says the images are unprocessed, out-of-camera results taken using conventional Picture Styles.

DPReview also provides JPEG and RAW downloads. It notes that the camera’s Color filter modes do not allow RAW capture, which explains why the gallery uses Picture Styles instead. That distinction matters when comparing its results with more stylized promotional images.

Open the gallery on DPReview to inspect the files or process a RAW in your preferred converter. Its photographs are linked here rather than reproduced, in line with the site’s stated reuse restrictions.

Digital Camera World: wildlife and portraits

Digital Camera World’s hands-on review includes a 14-image sample section. Photographs use the RF 100–400mm f/5.6–8 IS USM and RF 24–105mm f/4–7.1 IS STM, offering a useful view of the camera with relatively affordable zooms.

Hillary K. Grigonis reports successful bird-in-flight captures, but also missed frames and difficulty with some bird eyes and intervening branches. The article includes a 400mm photograph at 1/60 second when discussing stabilization. Treat that as an individual example, rather than a measured keeper rate.

Another source: The-Digital-Picture

The-Digital-Picture’s EOS R8 Mark II review adds sample photographs and technical discussion. It explicitly identifies its review camera as a preproduction unit loaned by Canon USA, a useful qualification when comparing early results.

Which gallery should you open first?

Start with the official pictures for a quick look at finished output. Use DPReview for RAW processing, and Digital Camera World for its wildlife examples and accompanying shooting experience. Compare images at the same display size, and check exposure, lens and processing before attributing a difference to the camera body.
