I’ve got about 40 rolls of old Kodak 35mm film sitting in my closet in Seattle that I really need to digitize before they degrade any further. I’ve been looking at the Plustek OpticFilm 8100 versus the Epson V600. My logic was that the Plustek might be sharper since it's dedicated to film, but the Epson seems way more versatile for other projects—though I've read some reviews saying the Epson's dynamic range isn't great for shadows. My budget is around $400. I also considered just using a DSLR setup with a macro lens, but I don't have the space for a tripod rig right now. Which one would you guys lean toward for color accuracy?
