im honestly so fed up with the stock strap that came with my Leica Q2, like seriously why is it so stiff and awful?? I took it on a weekend trip to Seattle last month and by day two the thing was literally digging into my neck and leaving actual red marks through my jacket, ugh. Plus it keeps sliding off my shoulder every two seconds which is giving me a mini heart attack every time I move too fast. Im ready to just throw it in the trash tbh and buy something that actually works for street photography and long walks without torturing me.
so here are my main constraints for a replacement:
- Budget is around $50 to maybe $100 max if its genuinely life changing
- Needs to be comfortable for all day wear since I travel a lot and usually shoot for 6-8 hours straight
- Prefer something that doesnt scratch up the body when I wrap it around my hand (had that happen on an old fuji and still traumatized lol)
- Not a huge fan of bulky leather pads, kinda leaning towards rope or softer webbing
anyone found a strap they actually love for this camera? what are you guys using that wont break my neck?
that stock strap really is brutal on long walks, totally feel your pain there. just make sure whatever you end up buying doesnt compromise on connection security because dropping a q2 is an expensive nightmare.
- watch out for cheap metal rings that can chew up the camera lugs over time
- double-check those little triangular split rings to ensure they arent bending under pressure
- avoid anything with exposed metal parts that might swing and bang against the body id recommend getting anchor links installed properly if youre using quick-release systems, just take your time with them. stay safe out there...
