A few days ago, Sony officially announced the flagship Sony Alpha a1 camera. This new camera costs $6,498, available for pre-order at Amazon US/ B&H/ Adorama. Here are some first sample images, posted at DPReview.com.
Sony a1 has a resolution of 50MP (200MP in high resolution mode), ultra-high-speed continuous shooting, and extremely reliable AF. Most of the samples were taken with FE 24-105mm F4G, but the new 50MP sensor gives the impression that the resolution is sufficient and the image is good.
