Sony ZV-E10 Announced, Priced $698, Available for Pre-Order

Sony  has just officially announced the new Sony ZV-E10. It is an E-mount mirrorless camera with a 24MP APS-C sensor designed for vlogging, featruing a fully articulating touchscreen, product showcase feature and soft skin features, a three-capsule microphone, and sockets for an external mic and headphones. It also has Sony’s top-notch autofocus system, which tracks eyes and faces with ease. While it can capture 4K video, there’s a hefty crop at 30p, but not at 24p. The ZV-E10 can live stream video (using UVC/UAC standards) over its USB-C connection.

Sony A1 Sensor Review (DxOMark): “Speed and Quality in One”

Kevin Carter has just posted a full review of the newly released Sony Alpha a1 (Amazon/ B&H/ Adorama) at DxOMark.com. Sony Alpha a1 achieved an overall sensor score of 98, which puts it in 9th position in their overall sensitivity ranking (including medium format) and in 7th place for full-frame 35 mm. That places Sony A1 fractionally behind the Sony A7R IV and Nikon Z7 II at 99 and 100 respectively, and just slightly in front of the Canon EOS R5 at 95 points by less than 0.2EV in overall sensitivity.  Continue reading
