Pentax has just officially announced the new Pentax KF. It is the company’s newest APS-C DSLR. While the company calls this camera an ‘extension’ of its K-70 DSLR.
Ricoh has announced the latest APS-C digital SLR camera “PENTAX KF”. Ricoh says this camera is the “extended version” of the K-70, but in fact KF is a model that has made a small adjustment to the K-70, which is mostly due to the problem of parts acquisition.
The biggest difference between Pentax K-70 and KF is that the liquid crystal display has been highly resolved from 921,000 dots of K-70 to 1.04 million dots. In addition, the weight is 625g and 3g lighter than Pentax K-70. Ricoh says that it is not clear which part is specifically lighter, but there is no noticeable difference in terms of function.
In terms of software, Pentax KF has newly added three custom image modes, “Ribi,” “Bleach bypass,” and “Cross Processing”. In addition, it is necessary to use it with a specific lens, but it is equipped with a custom image mode of “Kuaki” and “Natsuten” mounted on Pentax K-1, K-1 Mark II, and K-3 Mark III.
The attached battery charger has been changed to USB-C support. This is a little interesting choice, given that the camera itself still uses Micro USB.
In other parts, if there is no logo as the K-70, you will not know the difference between the two models.
The KF will be sold for $ 849.95 in late November and a kit with 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR for $ 949.95.
